Why We Teach For America
Three corps members share why they Teach For America.
As a corps member, you can change lives. You’ll be working hard each and every day to provide an excellent education for your students. Leading them to success in the classroom will ultimately change their life options – and what could be better than that?!
Ivanna is part of a network of leaders who are changing education so that all students can realize their own greatness. You can be, too. Community, family, corps – no matter what you call it, leaders of all backgrounds and experiences at Teach For America have access to a support network inside and outside the classroom. Corps members are part of a larger movement of unique individuals who share a common goal – equal opportunities for our country’s children.
You too can be a role model as you develop concrete, transferable skills. Grad school deans and employers in every field are looking for the skills that you’ll build in the corps. As CEO of your classroom, you’ll develop the leadership skills to plan strategically, set and achieve ambitious goals, communicate effectively, manage, and motivate others. CEO already? Yes, that’s right!
